About Our Practice

OakHeart is a values-based organization, offering high-quality evidence-based treatment, in a safe and confidential environment. We are a group private practice with 2 locations serving children, adolescents, and adults primarily in the west/southwest suburbs of Chicago. We currently have 22 licensed clinicians/providers on staff representing a variety of professions including social workers, counselors, and psychologists. We also have an active training program.

Our Core Values

Integrity: To be honest with ourselves and others; to earn the trust of our colleagues and clients; to abide by our moral and ethical code; and to be fair and sincere in all that we do.

Kindness: To be understanding and open. To be considerate and helpful. We believe that all humans deserve to be treated with compassion and respect.

Courage: To have the strength to take risks, be vulnerable, and face our fears. To do what's right even when it's hard.

Genuineness: To be true and authentic to ourselves and towards others.

Respect: To earn our colleague's, employee's, client's, and the community's respect in all that we do. To respect others and treat them with dignity.

Empathy: To understand and have compassion for the feelings and experiences of others. To provide a safe place; to make room for emotions; and to acknowledge multiple truths.

OakHeart's Mentorship Model

We are extremely proud to utilize a mentorship model. This means that all new staff are assigned a mentor who will work with you one-on-one with regularly scheduled meetings. Mentorship is in addition to supervision if a clinician is still in need of supervised experience and hours.

We have been lucky enough to have mentors guiding us and supporting us along the way and it is a value of ours to pass these gifts along. We seek to earn the trust and respect of our staff and colleagues and to create a safe place for growth. You deserve to be fairly compensated for your time and expertise, you deserve to work in an environment that feels supportive and respectful, you deserve to work in a healthy culture with healthy communication amongst management and staff. Specifically, the goal of our mentorship model is to:

  • To support your professional development, financial, and caseload goals
  • To ensure an easy transition into the practice
  • To answer any questions you might have regarding non-clinical duties such as billing, documentation, policies and procedures, etc.
  • To provide additional consultation regarding cases when needed
  • To provide you with a "go to" person to discuss any questions or concerns you might have
  • To help you further develop clinical niche interests and specialties
  • To provide you with an advocate within the business
  • To make sure you are happy; and that you feel seen, heard, and valued
