Evidence-Based Treatments and Approaches Available at OakHeart
Additionally, our therapists bring strengths-based, person-centered, and humanistic orientations to the evidence-based approaches we use. In practice, that means we pay attention to your existing strengths and resources, not only your symptoms or your diagnosis, and we keep your goals and values central to the work. Even when we are using a structured protocol, the direction of treatment is something we decide with you.
While evidence-based treatments are powerful tools for reducing symptoms and improving outcomes, the heart and foundation of effective therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. We place a high value on respecting our clients, on offering a safe and supportive space for growth, and on treating each client's needs, values, and goals as an invaluable catalyst for change.

Sycamore, IL Office Space
Our Sycamore office is located at 1950 DeKalb Avenue, Unit E, in a professional building right on Route 23. The building sits on a busy commercial property shared with a Texas Roadhouse and other businesses. Your visit blends easily into the normal rhythm of the corridor. Free parking is available in the lot directly outside, with spaces close to the entrance.
Inside, you'll find a private waiting room designed to feel calm and comfortable while you wait for your appointment. Coffee, tea, and water are available, and the space is kept relaxing so you can settle in before your session. Our therapy offices themselves are warm and comfortable, designed to feel less like a clinical room and more like a space where real conversation can happen. We know that walking into a therapy office can feel vulnerable, especially the first time. We've worked to make the entire experience, from the parking lot to the waiting room to the office itself, as welcoming as possible.
