I aim to create a safe, warm space for people to feel comfortable coming as they are, in order to grow and heal into who they wish to be. Unpacking heavy emotions and correlating how events in our lives can have a ripple effect on the way we live can be daunting, and I strive to hold a nonjudgmental space for people to unpack struggles and create goals to help alleviate them.

Professional Experience

I have experience working with youth, teens, and adults on an individual and family basis-- who experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, chronic illness, and cultural struggles.

I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a specialization in children and families. Throughout my graduate level internships, I interned as a therapist at a private practice, where I saw individuals for long-term therapy for a variety of different diagnosis in both English and Spanish. I also interned at an outpatient oncology center, primarily focusing on the Spanish speaking patients and their families while navigating oncology treatment. I enjoy working with and have clinical experience with children (8-12), teens, young adults, and adults—and especially have a passion for working with teens and young adults.

Specializations and Treatment Approach

I mainly utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, while holding a person-centered approach to fit my clients’ needs. I am passionate about building a therapeutic relationship that empowers people to welcome change they wish to see unfold in their lives.

I have a passion for helping teens and young adults navigate emotions and life changes that may be occurring. Change is often difficult to manage on one’s own and building trust with a therapist to work on goals with might be immensely helpful in the long run.

In therapy, I tend to be more on the structured side for sessions— In the sense that I come prepared with activities and exercises we can do to work towards goals we set, but I also want to acknowledge that this is your time, and you are in the driver’s seat to your own healing.

About Me

For self-care, I love to go on bike rides, journal, listen to podcasts, drink matcha lattes and spend time with my puppy and loved ones. I would describe myself as optimistic, determined, helpful, funny, and genuine. I chose these specific words because I found that being myself throughout therapeutic relationships can be greatly helpful to folks—in building a genuine, trusting relationship (which is essential to start towards one’s healing) and in breaking down the barriers and stigma around therapy.
